Terms and Conditions for Carpetcleaning SW1

Carpet cleaning technician preparing professional equipment before a booked serviceThese Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which carpet cleaning services are provided by Carpetcleaning SW1. By making a booking, the customer agrees to be bound by the conditions below. They are designed to create a clear understanding of the service scope, pricing, responsibilities, and legal limits that apply to every carpet cleaning appointment. For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, references to "we", "us", and "our" mean Carpetcleaning SW1, and references to "you" and "your" mean the customer receiving the service. These terms apply to all carpet cleaning, rug cleaning, upholstery-related fabric cleaning, stain treatment, and related domestic or commercial work where offered as part of the service.

All services are subject to availability, inspection, and the suitability of the material or area to be cleaned. While we use professional equipment and industry-standard methods, results may vary depending on fibre type, age, wear, previous treatments, and pre-existing damage. The customer acknowledges that carpet cleaning is a restoration and maintenance service, not a guarantee of full stain removal or complete colour correction. Any booking confirmed by us forms a service agreement under these Terms and Conditions, whether arranged online, by phone, by email, or by any other accepted method.

If any part of these Terms and Conditions is unclear, the customer should request clarification before the appointment date. Continuing with the booking or allowing the service to begin will be treated as acceptance of the terms in force at that time. We may update these conditions from time to time to reflect changes in operational practice, legal requirements, or service standards, and the version applicable will be the one current at the time the booking is made unless otherwise required by law.

Booking process begins when a customer makes an enquiry and provides the relevant details needed to assess the job. This may include the number and type of carpets, approximate room sizes, access arrangements, the condition of the carpet, parking considerations, and any known staining or specialist requirements. Based on the information provided, we may offer an estimate, quotation, or indicative price. Any estimate is given in good faith but may change if the on-site condition differs from the description supplied at booking.

A booking is only confirmed once we have accepted the request and, where applicable, received any required deposit or pre-authorisation. Confirmation may be provided verbally or in writing. The customer is responsible for ensuring that the booking details are correct, including the service address, date, time window, access instructions, and the scope of carpet cleaning SW1 services requested. If the customer changes the scope after confirmation, we reserve the right to revise the price, adjust the schedule, or decline to proceed if the amended work is not practical within the original appointment.

Customers must ensure that the areas to be cleaned are reasonably accessible and safe for the operative to work in. This includes moving fragile items, securing pets, and providing access to water, electricity, and parking where required. Technician treating a carpet during an in-home cleaning appointmentWhere access is delayed because of incorrect information, building entry problems, or the customer’s failure to prepare the premises, we may charge waiting time or treat the visit as a cancellation. If the technician is unable to complete the service due to conditions at the property that were not disclosed in advance, the customer may still be liable for a call-out or minimum booking charge.

Payments for carpet cleaning services are due in accordance with the price agreed at booking or the final adjusted price agreed on site. Unless stated otherwise, payment is due immediately upon completion of the work. We may accept card, bank transfer, or other approved methods, but cash acceptance, payment timing, or deposit requirements remain at our discretion. Any deposit taken is used to secure the appointment and may be non-refundable where stated, particularly for reserved time slots or specialist service appointments.

If the customer requests additional work during the visit, such as extra room cleaning, targeted stain treatment, or the cleaning of items not included in the original booking, the price may be increased accordingly. The customer agrees to pay for all properly authorised additional services, whether requested by the customer or reasonably necessary to complete the agreed service safely and effectively. We reserve the right to suspend or refuse further work if payment terms are not met or if there is a dispute about the service scope that cannot be resolved reasonably on site.

Cancellation and rescheduling must be made with reasonable notice. If a customer cancels or reschedules within the notice period specified at the time of booking, no cancellation charge may apply. However, where cancellation occurs at short notice, or where a visit has already been dispatched, we may charge a reasonable fee to cover allocated time, travel, staff costs, and any materials prepared for the appointment. In some cases, the full booking value may be charged if cancellation is made too close to the appointment time or access is refused on arrival.

We understand that unforeseen circumstances arise, and we will usually try to offer an alternative appointment where practicable. Any rescheduling is subject to availability and may affect promotional pricing or timing. Where a customer repeatedly reschedules or fails to provide access, we may require prepayment for future bookings. If we need to cancel or change an appointment because of operational reasons, equipment failure, adverse weather, or staff illness, we will make reasonable efforts to offer a new time, but we shall not be liable for indirect losses arising from the change.

Liability is limited to the value of the service provided, except where liability cannot lawfully be limited. We take reasonable care when carrying out carpet cleaning, moving light furniture where agreed, and using cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with standard practice. However, the customer accepts that some materials are inherently delicate or may react unpredictably to moisture, heat, agitation, or cleaning agents. We are not responsible for damage caused by hidden defects, pre-existing wear, rot, poor installation, colour instability, moth damage, previous unsuccessful treatments, or items that are not suitable for professional cleaning.

We will not be liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from the carpet cleaning service, except where such exclusion is prohibited by law. The customer must inform us of any special risks, concerns, or previous treatments before cleaning begins. If an item is especially valuable, antique, or fragile, the customer should request a suitability check in advance. Where we advise that a material should not be cleaned, the customer accepts the risk of proceeding against that advice. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

Responsible disposal and handling of waste generated during cleaning servicesWaste regulations and disposal are observed in line with applicable UK environmental requirements. In the course of carpet cleaning, waste may include dirty water, removed debris, packaging, used cloths, disposable protective items, and other residues collected during the service. We will dispose of service-related waste responsibly and, where necessary, in accordance with local environmental and drainage rules. The customer must not ask us to dispose of restricted, hazardous, or uncontrolled materials unless this has been agreed in advance and can be lawfully handled.

We will not knowingly discharge substances that breach sewer, drainage, or waste control rules. If the customer has provided false information about contamination, animal waste, chemical residue, mould, or similar hazards, we may stop work immediately and charge for the visit. Any additional waste handling that requires specialist disposal, PPE, or deep decontamination may be subject to extra charges and may be refused if beyond the scope of standard carpet cleaning SW1 work. The customer remains responsible for ensuring the premises are suitable for the planned service and for declaring any environmental or biohazard concerns before the appointment.

Customer responsibilities include making sure the premises are secure, the work area is available, and the service can be carried out without unnecessary risk. You should remove small valuables, loose objects, and breakables from the cleaning area before our arrival. Where furniture needs to be moved, only items reasonably suitable for handling will be moved, and the customer remains responsible for items that are too heavy, fixed, or unsafe to shift. We may refuse to move electrical equipment, antiques, wall-mounted fixtures, or other fragile items. The customer must also ensure that children and pets are kept away from the work area during cleaning and drying.

Drying times can vary significantly depending on fibre type, ventilation, humidity, cleaning method, and the level of soiling. We do not guarantee immediate usability of carpets after cleaning. Customers are responsible for allowing appropriate drying time and taking precautions to prevent re-soiling, footprints, or furniture marks. If furniture is replaced too soon or if ventilation is restricted after cleaning, the final result may be affected, and we will not be liable for resulting issues. Any recommendations provided by our technician are given in good faith, but the customer is responsible for deciding whether to follow them.

Where stain protection, deodorising, or specialist treatment is offered, these are additional services subject to their own limitations. We cannot guarantee the permanent removal of all stains, odours, or discolouration, especially where the damage has set over time or has reacted with previous cleaning products. Some spots may reappear due to wicking or unseen residue below the carpet surface. If a stain is unlikely to be removable, we may say so before or after inspection, and the customer accepts that our obligation is to use reasonable skill and care rather than to guarantee a specific cosmetic result.

Final section of carpet cleaning terms and conditions shown on a documentComplaints and remedies should be raised as soon as reasonably possible after the service is completed. The customer should provide sufficient detail and, where relevant, photographs so that we can assess the issue properly. If we determine that the work fell below a reasonable standard, we may offer to revisit the property, provide a partial refund, or take another reasonable step to resolve the matter. This will be our sole obligation unless otherwise required by law. We will not be responsible for issues not reported promptly or where the customer has altered the cleaned area after completion.

Events outside our control include, without limitation, extreme weather, traffic disruption, road closures, power failures, equipment shortages, strikes, illness, supplier failures, and other circumstances that prevent or delay performance. If such an event affects a booking, we will make reasonable efforts to notify the customer and rearrange the appointment. We shall not be liable for failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, provided we take appropriate steps to minimise disruption.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law where the service is supplied to a consumer. If a provision is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remainder of the terms will continue in force. Any waiver of a breach or delay in enforcing a term does not operate as a waiver of any later breach. The customer may not assign or transfer the booking without our prior consent, and we may assign our rights where this does not materially affect the customer’s rights.

Governing law and jurisdiction are England and Wales. These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the carpet cleaning services provided, shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer rules provide otherwise. By proceeding with a booking, the customer confirms that they understand and accept these Terms and Conditions in full.
