Service Terms and Conditions for Carpet Cleaning SW1

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Carpet Cleaning SW1 provides professional carpet and related cleaning services within SW1 and surrounding areas. By making a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing an order for any service.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following words have the meanings set out below:

Client means the individual or business requesting the services from Carpet Cleaning SW1.

Company means Carpet Cleaning SW1 as the provider of the services.

Services means carpet cleaning and any additional cleaning or related services provided by the Company as agreed with the Client.

Premises means the property or location where the Services are to be carried out.

Booking means a confirmed request by the Client for the Company to provide Services on a specified date and time.

2. Scope of Services

The Company provides professional carpet cleaning and related services, including but not limited to hot water extraction, dry carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, rug cleaning, and stain treatment, subject to availability and the specific requirements of the Premises.

The exact scope of work, including which rooms, areas, or items are to be cleaned, will be agreed at the time of Booking or during the pre-service assessment. The Company reserves the right to decline or adjust the scope of Services if the condition of the carpets or Premises significantly differs from the description given at the time of Booking.

3. Booking Process

Bookings may be made by the Client through the Company’s chosen contact channels. The Client must provide accurate information, including the address of the Premises, type and approximate size of the areas to be cleaned, any known stains or damage, and any access restrictions.

All Bookings are subject to availability. The Company will confirm the Booking date, time, and estimated duration of the visit. A Booking is only considered confirmed once the Company has acknowledged it and, where applicable, received any required deposit.

The Client is responsible for ensuring safe and timely access to the Premises at the agreed time. If access is delayed or refused, waiting time or a call-out charge may apply, as detailed in these Terms.

4. Estimates and Pricing

The Company may provide an estimate for the Services based on the information supplied by the Client. Estimates are not binding and may be adjusted if, upon arrival, the Premises or carpets differ materially from the description provided.

Final pricing will be based on factors such as the size and type of carpeted areas, level of soiling, complexity of access, and any additional treatments requested by the Client, such as stain protection or deodorising.

All prices will be given in pounds sterling. Where applicable, any taxes or statutory charges will be shown separately or included in the final price, in accordance with current legislation.

5. Payments and Deposits

Payment is due in full upon completion of the Services, unless otherwise agreed in writing prior to the service date. The Company accepts payment by commonly used electronic or card methods, as notified to the Client in advance, and may accept cash at its discretion.

For certain Bookings, including larger or multi-property contracts, the Company may require a deposit at the time of Booking. The amount and due date of any deposit will be communicated to the Client before confirming the Booking.

If payment is not made when due, the Company reserves the right to charge interest and reasonable debt recovery costs, and may suspend further Services until all outstanding sums have been settled.

6. Cancellations and Rescheduling

The Client may cancel or reschedule a Booking by giving the Company reasonable notice before the scheduled start time. Unless otherwise agreed, at least 24 hours notice is required to avoid a cancellation charge.

If the Client cancels or reschedules with less than 24 hours notice, the Company may charge a fee to cover costs incurred, including staff allocation and travel expenses. This fee may be up to the full value of the scheduled Services, depending on the circumstances.

If the Company needs to cancel or reschedule a Booking due to unforeseen circumstances, such as staff illness, equipment failure, severe weather, or other events beyond its reasonable control, it will inform the Client as soon as practicable and offer an alternative date and time. The Company will not be liable for any indirect loss or inconvenience arising from such cancellations or rescheduling.

7. Client Responsibilities

The Client must ensure that the Premises are accessible and safe for the Company’s personnel to perform the Services. This includes providing clear access to carpets and areas to be cleaned, adequate lighting, and a supply of electricity and water where reasonably required.

The Client is responsible for removing small items, valuables, breakables, and any personal belongings from the areas to be cleaned before the scheduled start time. While the Company will take reasonable care, it cannot be held liable for damage to items left in the cleaning area that should reasonably have been removed.

The Client must inform the Company of any known hazards or restrictions at the Premises, such as fragile flooring, loose carpet joints, alarm systems, or health and safety concerns.

8. Condition of Carpets and Limitations

The Client acknowledges that the effectiveness of carpet cleaning depends on several factors, including the age and condition of the carpets, the nature and duration of stains, and previous cleaning methods or treatments used.

While the Company will use reasonable skill and care and appropriate professional techniques, it does not guarantee that all stains, marks, or odours will be completely removed, or that colour corrections will be fully uniform.

The Company is not responsible for any pre-existing damage, wear, fading, shrinkage, loose seams, or defects in the carpets, underlay, or subfloor that become more apparent after cleaning. Where the Company considers a carpet or area to be at risk of damage, it may decline to treat it or may carry out only a reduced level of cleaning, after explaining the reasons to the Client where possible.

9. Liability and Insurance

The Company will perform the Services with reasonable care and skill and will take reasonable steps to minimise any risk of damage to carpets, furniture, and property. The Company is insured for public liability and, where appropriate, employer liability, in line with industry practice.

If the Client believes that the Services have resulted in damage to property or items, the Client must notify the Company as soon as reasonably possible, and in any event within 48 hours of completion of the Services, providing details and, where available, evidence such as photographs.

The Company’s liability for any loss or damage arising from the provision of the Services, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall be limited to the value of the Services provided for the affected Booking, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. The Company will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of enjoyment, or loss of opportunity.

10. Access, Parking, and Keys

The Client is responsible for arranging suitable access and, where required, parking for the Company’s vehicle in reasonable proximity to the Premises. Any parking charges or access fees incurred directly in providing the Services may be added to the Client’s invoice, if not otherwise arranged.

If the Client provides keys or access codes to the Premises, the Company will take reasonable care to protect them and will use them only for the purpose of providing the Services. The Company accepts no liability for loss or damage arising from faulty or insecure locks, existing security issues, or incorrect information given by the Client regarding access details.

11. Waste Handling and Environmental Regulations

The Company will handle and dispose of waste generated in the course of the Services in accordance with applicable environmental and waste management regulations. This includes the responsible disposal of used cleaning solutions, residues, and any limited waste removed as part of the cleaning process.

Unless otherwise agreed in advance, the Company’s Services do not include the removal of large quantities of household rubbish, building waste, hazardous materials, or items that require specialist disposal. If such materials are present at the Premises, the Company may refuse to handle them and may adjust or suspend the Services if they pose a risk to health, safety, or the environment.

The Client shall not request the Company to dispose of waste in a manner that would breach environmental regulations or local authority requirements. Where additional charges apply for lawful disposal of particular waste arising directly from the Services, the Company will notify the Client in advance whenever practicable.

12. Health and Safety

The Company will comply with applicable health and safety requirements and will use cleaning products and equipment in a safe and professional manner. Where appropriate, warning signs or barriers may be placed in wet or treated areas to reduce the risk of slips or accidents.

The Client must ensure that children, pets, and other occupants are kept away from work areas during and immediately after the cleaning process, particularly where carpets are wet or cleaning solutions are in use. The Company will not be liable for accidents or injuries resulting from the Client’s failure to follow reasonable safety advice.

13. Complaints and Service Issues

The Company aims to provide a high standard of service and welcomes feedback from Clients. If the Client is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services, they should contact the Company as soon as possible, and within 48 hours of completion, to allow a prompt review of the issue.

Where the complaint is justified and directly related to the quality of the Services, the Company may, at its discretion, offer to re-clean the affected area, provide a partial refund, or agree another appropriate remedy. This will be the Client’s sole and exclusive remedy for service-related issues, except where otherwise required by law.

14. Data Protection and Privacy

The Company may collect and process personal information about the Client, such as name, address, and contact details, solely for the purpose of managing Bookings, delivering the Services, handling payments, and administering any follow-up communication.

The Company will take reasonable steps to keep such information secure and will not sell or share it with third parties except where necessary to deliver the Services, comply with legal obligations, or enforce these Terms.

15. Amendments to Terms and Conditions

The Company reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in legal requirements, industry standards, or the Company’s operating practices. The version in force at the time of the Client’s Booking will apply to that Booking.

Any material changes will be made available by the Company in a clear and accessible manner. Continued use of the Services after such changes take effect will constitute acceptance of the updated Terms and Conditions.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Services provided, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Both the Company and the Client agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising from or relating to these Terms and Conditions or the Services provided.

17. General Provisions

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed deleted and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

No failure or delay by the Company in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall operate as a waiver of that right or remedy, and no single or partial exercise of any right or remedy shall prevent any further exercise of that or any other right or remedy.

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Client and the Company relating to the Services and supersede any prior discussions, correspondence, or understandings between the parties.
